Help Us Save the Front Lines!
The Lantos Foundation’s Front Line Fund was created more than 15 years ago to provide targeted, fast-moving micro grants to courageous groups and individuals working on the front lines of human rights struggles. Today, the need for this type of support is greater than ever.
Recent pauses on American foreign aid and ongoing uncertainty about the future of USAID have impacted groups all around the world. These include organizations and people working to protect human rights, promote freedom of religion or belief, advance democracy, and support vulnerable communities. Without access to funds that they rely on, many of these groups won’t survive the 90-day freeze – even if foreign aid is eventually restored.
This is where our Front Line Fund comes in – now is the time to Save the Front Lines!
The Lantos Foundation has worked closely with trusted partners in the human rights and development community to identify groups and individuals abroad who have lost access to critical funding and for whom a small infusion of financial support could make all the difference. We are essentially attempting to provide bridge funding for these groups to help them make it through the spending pause.
We will be allocating money from our Front Line Fund to deliver micro grants directly to these organizations on an expedited basis, and we hope you will help us have an even greater impact.
If you donate to our Front Line Fund now, we will match every dollar raised up to $20,000 and 100% of these funds will go directly to the groups we have identified. For many, even a modest grant will help them keep their doors open, deliver vital services, and ensure their safety and security in dangerous regions.
When you donate today, your money will directly support people like:
Journalists from Belarus documenting human rights abuses and supporting political prisoners
Refugees from Burma who were preparing to immigrate to the United States, seeking freedom of religion, but have now been left stranded
Activists organizing peaceful protests in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Advocates in Iran who have faced torture during imprisonment and are in urgent need of medical care
Human rights lawyers in Venezuela and Nicaragua, who face severe threats and must relocate to safety to be able to continue their work
Since World War II, the United States has used foreign aid strategically to promote human rights and democracy, as well as provide lifesaving humanitarian support around the world. At this time of great uncertainty, please join us in supporting those on the front lines of the struggle for human rights and justice. Please help us Save the Front Lines!
