Solidarity Sabbath 2021
Since 2015, the Lantos Foundation has led the annual Solidarity Sabbath initiative to bring people together to express support for international religious freedom, to highlight the plight of persecuted religions and faith traditions around the world, and to advocate for greater solidarity across faith communities. In 2021, the Lantos Foundation is partnering with the Combat Anti-Semitism Movement (CAM) to host a virtual screening of a powerful new documentary Passage to Sweden and a conversation about what we can learn from the actions of Scandinavian countries, and the heroic individuals from those countries, during the Holocaust.
Passage To Sweden examines the unique experience of Jews in Scandinavia during the Second World War, where spontaneous and dramatic rescue operations were conducted to save thousands of Jewish lives.
The film will be available to watch at your convenience any time from May 15 through May 23. Click here to register.
On Thursday, May 20 at 12:30 pm EDT, join the Lantos Foundation and CAM for a live Q&A and conversation about the film and what it can teach us about standing in solidarity today with persecuted religions. You can watch below or via Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
